The school of economics has a vibrant postgraduate community with many students on the modular MSc programme and/or studying for a PhD. One stream of the MSc programme which has been running for over twenty-five years is the MSc in Energy Economics and Policy. This course attracts a core of dedicated energy enthusiasts keen to study the importance and impact of economics on the energy scene. Although this is administered within the school's modular MSc structure members of SEEC oversee both the design and delivery of the degree and the supervision of the energy research undertaken by the students during the dissertation. SEEC also attracts a number of PhD students on to the School of Economics PhD Programme to undertake PhD research in energy economics.
All postgraduate students in Energy Economics automatically become members of SEEC and are encouraged to participate in all activities, such as workshops and seminars during their time at the University of Surrey - thus ensuring that all the energy students have an excellent experience while studying at SEEC. Moreover, many past students who have successfully completed their MSc and/or PhD in energy economics have gone on to very interesting and rewarding careers, both in academia and energy industries across the world.
